SAVE THE DATE! – EMSA WINTER MEETING 13th DECEMBER 2019
The East Midlands School of Anaesthesia organises training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care within Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, from Northampton to Kings Mill.
The East Midlands School of Anaesthesia training programme is flexible, we offer training from core to advanced level in a variety of areas, and offer specialist fellowships and out of programme training opportunities in thoracics, ariway, quality improvement and management.
We offer higher specialist and advanced training in pain management and a number of national courses.
The East Midlands has a track record in research through it’s major universities of Leicester and Nottingham. Trainees contribute to national projects through our local research network, MERCAT and PAINTRAIN.
Our hospitals provide exposure and training in anaesthesia for most tertiary specialties, and we are proud of our specialist centres for ECMO, specialist paediatric cardiac surgical services, neurosurgery and trauma, from core to advanced level in our training program.
We get involved and innovate – Our trainees are engaged roles with national bodies, the Association of Anaesthetists, and Royal College of Anaesthetists. Our trainees are engaged in research. The school has a strong track record in supporting clinical training alongside non-clinical roles.
